Background

This is the song that I often open my gigs with. I was out at the barn one day pulling on a pair of cheap leather riding boots and wishing I had a pair of custom-made ones, and that led to other thoughts. The song has vocal, harmony vocal, acoustic guitars, and mandolin.

Custom-made Woman

Custom-made boots wrap around your feet
They hold you tight and they feel so sweet
They soften with age and they start to bend
But they're worth all the extra money you spend

(Chorus)
I'm a custom-made woman, yes it's true
I'm a custom-made woman, but made for who
I'm a custom-made woman, look what I can do
I'm a custom-made woman, might be made for you

Custom-made guitars fit your hands so fine
They cost a lot but they age like wine
Get the look you want and the sound just right
With your name inlaid to reflect the light

Custom-made homes keep you warm and dry
With lots of big windows to let in the sky
Plenty of places to put your things
And some extra room for what the future brings

Custom-made women are funny and kind
They bring out your best and drive you out of your mind
But if you find one and can make her your wife
You won't need another for the rest of your life
