Background

This is a dark song. I was walking by the river one night and realized how much our perceptions can change with the light. In just an hour or two the struggle of “good” and “evil” seems to shift, and feelings of safety and well-being can set with the sun. The song has vocal, harmony vocal, acoustic guitar, violin, and acoustic bass.

Do You Believe In The Devil

I hold my breath as the sun slips out of sight
I gather strength for the long dark night
Don't know how long I can stay in this fight
Trying to last till the morning light

(Chorus)
Do you believe in the devil
Can he own your soul
When the nights go on forever I wonder
Where did god go

Clothed in dark the perfect disguise
He stops to stare through empty eyes
Holds out a hand to hypnotize
So that he might claim his prize

I search within for a new safe place
I ask for help in the house of grace
I'm winding down losing the pace
Hiding the siege behind my face
