Background

This is my first attempt at a blues tune. I was trying to understand my son’s attraction to action figures, and we are still trying to reach a comfortable compromise. Caleb forgave me long enough to come into the studio and put in his two cents worth (he did demand payment). The song has vocal, acoustic guitar, slide guitar, harmonica, and acoustic bass.

Caleb's Blues

Mama don't understand me
I just want to play
She sees me with those action figures
And takes them all away

(Chorus)
Give back my action figures
Give back my action figures
Give back my action figures
I just want to play

Mama she says they're violent
They're no good for me
But I don't think that plastic pieces
Can turn me into a bully

Mama she just don't get it
Must be 'cause she's a girl
But I'm a boy and playing with them
Is the best thing in the world

Mama you've got to listen
I think you're mighty fine
But I miss my action figures so much
You've got to change your mind
